Nightmare is the fifth studio album of the heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. It was released on the 26th of July 2010.
Originally, Nightmare was supposed to be a concept album. However, with the passing of the band’s drummer and best friend, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, the album turned out differently. It’s basically dedicated to him.

The songs Nightmare and Fiction are the two only songs which were written prior to his passing, and which stayed practically untouched afterwards.
Mike Portnoy, ex-drummer for Dream Theater, has helped with the recording of the drum parts.
